Our Policies

  • We understand that things beyond your control may prevent timely arrival for your appointment. In the event you are late for your scheduled appointment we will do our best to see your pet, however, you may be required to reschedule or pay an additional service fee.

  • In order to be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please be courteous and call our office promptly if you are unable to show up for an appointment. If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, we ask for at least 4 hours advance notice.

In the event you are unable to keep your scheduled procedure (eg, dental, surgery) we require at least 48 hours advance notice. This allows to us try and fill the empty spot with another pet waiting to get in.

  • Failing to show for your appointment without notifying us in advance will result in a nonrefundable $25 no-show fee. This $25 will be applied toward the visit.

If you fail to show for a scheduled procedure (eg, dental, surgery) you will be charged a $100 nonrefundable no-show fee.

A third no-show offense will result in required prepayment of future exams (nonrefundable). You will be able to reschedule one final prepaid appointment.

The fourth no-show occurrence within one year will result in termination of our working relationship, and no further veterinary services will be rendered by Sterling Veterinary Clinic.

  • Payment is required at time of service. We accept cash, check, credit card, Care Credit, and Scratch Pay. A 3% fee will be added to all credit card transactions.

  • We cannot sell or sign off on prescription medications without a current and valid veterinarian client patient relationship (VCPR). This means we must have examined your pet within the last 365 days in order to dispense or prescribe medications. For more information about the veterinary code of ethics as it relates to VCPR, click here.

  • We require all pets in our care be up to date on their rabies vaccination as per WAC 246-100-197. If your pet is not up to date or you cannot provide proof of current vaccination, we will update your pet’s rabies vaccination if deemed medically appropriate. You will be responsible for associated costs.
